Alliances

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is a national laboratory of the US Dept of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, operated by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC., and is the USA’s primary laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development (R&D).

NREL develops renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and practices, advances related science and engineering, and transfers knowledge and innovations to address the nation's energy and environmental goals. NREL has forged a focused strategic direction to increase its impact on the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) and the USA’s energy goals by accelerating the research path from scientific innovations to market-viable alternative energy solutions.

Joule Labs, Inc. was launched in 2008 through a cooperative research agreement with the National Renewable Energy Labs and funding from a DOE grant.  Our customers want a trusted source of data for decision making that helps guide energy efficiency & renewable energy investments.  The Joules Lab Energy Services Foundation is populated with jointly developed NREL models, data and analysis tools, and the applications utilize a portfolio of NREL technical and economic energy analysis tools. This joint research and development enables Joules Labs to rapidly develop and easily maintain these sophisticated energy performance management applications, incorporating the latest algorithms and taking advantage of breakthrough research. These are benefits which are made available swiftly to the market through SaaS on demand solutions for organizations looking to lower energy costs and optimize their consumption of utility supplied power.
